This is my first computorised machine, and I have found it surprisingly easy to understand how to use it. The instruction manual is easy to follow, the automated tension is great. I was very impressed with the speed of delivery, ordered Friday ,arrived Monday. Magic!

Not used a lot yet, but a simple and robust machine. Chose this based on advice from a number of people. In particular for the IDT.

After a lot of searching for a new sewing machine, I found the Pfaff range and went for the expression 4.2. I'm very pleased that I made the right choice and I've only had a trial run so far. I'm going to need to experiment some more to get the hang of it. Customer service was very helpful too as I had a little problem with my payment.

Having never sewn before this is my first sewing machine and have to say it's been remarkably easy to pickup so far. The manual for it was easy to read through and work out what you have to do, the quick guide though was a bit of a non starter for me as I didn't know one end of the machine from the other, once you've threaded the machine and done few bits and pieces the quick guide then made sense so would highly recommend using the main manual that comes on the disc before doing anything if this is your first machine. The machine itself has done everything I've needed so far and seems well made and thought out. I've mended a few pairs of jeans and trousers with it and now currently have the largest needle fitted with some large V69 canvas kite thread and it's going through multiple layers of cordura (for a project) with no problem. Overall a great and well recommended machine.

A joy after my old machine !!! have always used a Singer, from treadle to hand then electric but read lots of reviews and decided on this one. Have read instructions through both on their own and alongside setting up the machine and everything was quite clear. Found a problem trying to find the thread cutter as it is not where I had expected but the needle threader is a joy as the old eyes aren't as good as they were. Have experimented a bit but haven't made anything yet, hence the 4 stars as I cannot comment fully until I have. Service and delivery excellent and I was able to call direct to the firm locally for additional information which was excellent. All round looking good.

Delighted! The parcel arrived safe and sound and really quickly. It's early days but I love my new machine already. The instruction book is so clear I could get started straight away. It's as sturdy as I had hoped and shows signs of being as good a companion as my 35 year old New Home has been. I can't wait to get creating.

I had never bought a machine from here before but it wont be the last time I do the service I have had from Duke has been exceptional nothing is too much of a problem and my questions have been answered quickly and my mind put at ease. I bought the XV in November 2014 - so far I have made a frozen quilt for my grand daughter from a panel with embroidery on the back - and a very extensive embroidered baby quilt with a Zoo design, clouds bugs etc - the embroidery on this machine is fab and for anyone that quilts and embroiders the camera is a must. I used the camera to scan my fabric then placed the design where I wanted it to go because you can see the fabric its easier to place making it so fast, much better than using the grids, then adding wording to the project to make it my own, my quilt included the DOB the time and weight and name and this was all done in the hoop it's a doddle adding extra to your design with this machine. I have also used the machine to sew the quilt together using the Duel feed foot, I must admit when I first looked at the duel feed foot I was dreading attaching it to the machine but no worries it was a lot easier than I thought no different to any other foot and wow it makes sewing through thick fabrics a real dream. There is one thing that really stands out for me on the Brother machines and that's the needle threader, believe me when I tell you it's the best needle threader of any machine, and I have had a few. I am really happy with my purchase and so is my hubby as he will use this machine to help me out sometime he says its easy to use and loves the needle threader too. I hope this review has helped
