With a jam proof bobbin, there is a clear plastic bobbin cover allowing you to easily check the amount of thread left on your bobbin: so there is no excuse for running out of bobbin thread whilst working on large projects. It has programmable needle up / down, something that is invaluable when doing patchwork.

The Janome 230DC is well suited for dressmakers too as it includes keyhole buttonholes sewn out in one step to the correct size for any button. When quilting, the user will find some nice quilting specific stitches. When a seam has been sewn, it is possible to set the 230DC to sew a few stitches in reverse and tie off the start and end of a seam automatically.
